Musicians are one group of people for whom low noise is essential, so it should come as no surprise that PaQ build Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs).
In fact DAWs came first – and the motivation for designing and building the PaQ case came from the experience of trying to improve existing cases.
At present we view the Intel Core 2 Duo as the quietest, fastest and most cost effective CPU for a serious workstation. The popular choice is a C2D E6600 with 2GB of RAM and around 700GB of disk space. But the Intel Quad-Core QX6700 works well, and actually represents excellent value for money if you really need that much horsepower.

Cases - shop

The first case in the PaQ range is the PaQ 4U-550. This case is specifically designed so that you can use it either as a Midi Tower or a DeskTop or as a RackMount. The RackMount requires the optional RackMount Braces, but the case is otherwise the same however you choose to install it.

We plan additions to the range –
• PaQ 4U-470: a shorter version of the 550 where space is limited or to fit in a 4U FlightCase
• PaQ 4U-600: with capacity for 4 HD and EATX motherboards and full length (12”) PCI cards
• PaQ MT-550: an normal width Midi-Tower with enough room to hold a custom cooling system for high power gaming cards
• PaQ HTPC: small, silent and stylish for your living room.

The central theme running through the complete range will be the PaQ mantra – Powerful and Quiet. The styling reflects this – understated, but elegant and purposeful, with a black cloth covering on the front door and a high gloss black finish for the main case shell.
Other, more exotic, colours will be available in due course. Brushed Gold or Brushed Copper are on the planned menu, as is an ultra-modern Carbon Fibre version. Ask if you are interested…

Accessories - shop

We have a range of accessories. At present this is limited to the three essential products:
• The RackMount Braces you use to mount the PaQ 4U-550 in RackMount mode
• The XP-140 CPU Cooling Package that works with the PaQ case to provide efficient CPU cooling and ensure that hot air cannot re-circulate inside the case.
• The PWM-DC converter that enables you to use a 3pin fan on a motherboard with a 4pin PWM fan header for its CPU fan

But there is much more in the pipeline.
