| The Power Cables to the front part of the case, and the Front USB, FireWire and Control Cables are all pre-assembled. They are embedded into the foam lining to keep them neat and prevent them from obstructing access to other components. Starting at the Connector Board near the PSU, they pass underneath one of the Case fans and then along the Cable Channel underneath the lower part of the HD Cage. If you need to remove or replace any of these cables, simply remove the Case Fans and the HDs and you will find you have direct access to them.
The remaining cabling comprises the data cables going to the drives – HDs, Opticals and Floppy. SATA cables are neatly accommodated by the six SATA Cable slots in the top of the Fan Cage. This not only allows the SATA cables to pass from the motherboard in the back half of the case to the HDs in the front, but hold the cables gently but firmly in place in the process.
Floppy and IDE ribbon cables are wider, and it is not possible to provide slots for them in the top of the Fan Cage like the SATA cables. To accommodate these ribbon cables, slits are provided in the Packing Pieces that go between the Case Fans. To fit a ribbon cable, remove a Fan Packing Piece, pass the cable trough the slit in the Packing Piece and replace the Packing Piece. |
